RS4 front bumper conversion Jpd89 Oct 3, I need a new front bumper and as its seems difficult to get hold of standard s3 bumpers I'm thinking of trying to get a rs4 one instead. I've seen a few threads from a few years back but was hoping someone with recent experience could point me in the right direction of a decent quality bumper?
Are there any drawbacks or modifications needed? Cheers again! Jpd89Oct 3, There are usually always people breaking S3's on ebay or on here I would have thought that RS4 ones are more expensive.
I've messaged every s3 being broken on eBay and all bumpers have either sold or can't be posted. Ideally I'd just get a s3 bumper, but I don't mind paying a bit more for a rs4 one as they look pretty mean!

Paradox1Oct 3, If its hard to find s3 ones its going to x harder to find a good rs4 one seeing as there were only ish bought to the country Undamaged RS4 bumpers are pretty rare, saying that I have a spare but there so hard to get hold of Im keeping it! Not a chance. Nor will any other B7 front bumper fit onto a B6 without mods ie swopping wings and bonnet etc etc. The RS4 bumper is several inches wider than any other B7 bumper so it won't even fit another B7 let alone a B6. Posted August 29, edited. Iirc one of the tuning companies made a kit to change a b6 to b7 rs4 front end. It involved a custom-made fibreglass bumper and some sort of bonnet extension I think. Not the most elegant solution but I guess it works if you know a good bodyshop.
Other than that, can anyone advise where I would be able to get a full s-line kit from other than a stealer, I am aware that both votex and Abt did kits for these cars as well, in fact I think the Abt kits could be specced from dealers, however the Abt website doesn't even mention the B6 model anymore Posted August 30, I'd say that the rear bumper wouldn't line up as the rs4 has flared arches so it will be made to line up with these.
There's a full fibreglass conversion from B6 to B7 RS4 on eBay including front wings and rear flares at the moment. Again, hofele do a rear rs4 bumper, just the lower section that bonds onto the upper part which blends with the wings. Posted September 2, Posted September 3, The options you have are votex very hard to source as they are discontinued maybe ebay but there are a lot of people after them.

Sourcing parts is a nightmare as there are a lot! I know have a set of side skirts and lower door mouldings from e-bay, so can I just confirm that a rear B7 bumper will NOT fit a B6 as I have heard they are the same Posted September 4, Did you just get yours from a SEAT dealer?
Also, is it an easy fit? Posted September 15, edited. On the car it would probably take longer. Posted September 29, Looks very clean I like. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy!

Fear not, if you have been dying to geek out on some juicy tech talk, we have you covered. Today we are going to cover some fun facts about swapping an engine. Specifically what it takes to stuff a v8 into a B5 A4, now I know what you are thinking, but sadly the answer is no. Clean Audi will not be swapping any engines soon, so this is a purely hypothetical.
Rest assured though, it will cover your needs.Microsoft wamerrors 700003
Also, as soon as the weather permits we will be posting a detailed article on wheel bearings. So look for that in the coming weeks!

Now, as most of you know, a B5 V8 swap has been done in the past. Engines such as the LS1 and other wilder variants have been stuffed into the front of that oh so lovely B5. The first well known conversion was the Cosworth project undertaken by Audi Group. The project was a test fit for the B6 S4; it used a specially modified 4.
The goal of the project was to determine whether the larger V8 had any adverse effects on handling and performance of the new car. As history can tell us, that would be a no, Audi did start using the 4. Making a good 2. Cosworth had to modify the front bumper and housing to fill the oversized engine, strange considering that the already built S6 and S8 4.
The final product, although fast and well built, was ugly in the front. The elongated front bumper threw the carefully balanced proportions off.
This problem seems more like a case of too much design power, resulting in Cosworth taking short cuts because they could. Had it been a backyard project, the bumper would have been left untouched for budget reasons. That been said, it was a great leap forward for tuners, because someone had paved the way and in the process opened the flood gates. After the Cosworth project, several tuners took up the challenge of building it better.
American V8s are no joke That was a terrifying prospect, a B5 A4 with and horse power. Suddenly that B5 at the stop light was a serious threat, posting numbers that were in Lambo killing territory. So what does it take to get there? The swap itself is tricky because of ECU problems and matching and mating transmission components. As for an engine, we have included this break down from Siena, an active member on many Audi forums. He has put together a list of engines as well as the bits and ends needed to make it work.
Thank him, no really, thank him. This engine from the original Audi V8 will undoubtedly be the cheapest here. It yielded hp in stock form, and while not the most powerful option, it would be best suited to a FWD car, where traction could become an issue. My only reservation though is the twin distributors would foul the secondary firewall. I do not advocate cutting into this seemingly flimsy piece of metal — it may not look structural, but it is.
Of course, this can be converted to coil-on-plug, and either run on a later harness and ECU from an A8, or stand alone.Recover Lost Password. Password must be at least 8 characters. Password must contain a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a digit and a special character!

Fits front bumper location only.Rob Aguilar of Vancouver, Washington set out on this build to do something totally different. I wanted to see what it would look like if Audi had ever built an RS4 on the B6 platform—-not the B7—-or again, at least a transitional platform, that blends in various elements of both platforms.
And yet everyone who sees it swears it looks OE—which of course was the entire point. Parts were sourced from the UK, France and Belgium—-took me about 9 months to gather it all notice the front and rear bumper covers—-no corner markers like US-spec. The B6 doors are also slightly flatter, and a few other elements, that involved more custom work to pull off but also gives the car a different and cleaner? It took countless hours to get it right, but it came out super clean and OEM.
The rear doors also had to be flared out to blend in with the rear fenders, which was no small feat. Even more challenging was getting the rear bumper to be integrated. The B6 and B7 Avant rear tail lights are mostly identical going from the top-down about 5 or 6 inches, but the B6 ones were much taller and larger than B7, presenting a serious challenge. To make it work, the B7 RS4 rear bumper cover had to be cut down to fit underneath the bottom of the much larger B6 tail lights, then a shelf had to be built on top of the bumper to go underneath the bottom of the tail lights.
Another challenge was the bottom outside corners of the B6 tailgate are more squared off than on a B7, so custom work had to be down to cut down the B6 rear tailgate had to be cut down and get welded back up underneath to be rounded off enough to work with the B7 RS4 rear bumper cover. There were a number of smaller items that had to be done too, ranging from the underbelly pans to headlight plugs. Rob chose the 2.
This 2. While the naturally aspirated V8 sounds amazing, it is somewhat limited in its ability to add power, and even super expensive parts like superchargers add a fairly nominal amount of power. This is quite a bit more than the RS4 motor of either the B5 or B7 generations.
Rob’s Completely Custom Audi B6.5 RS4 Avant
Most noticeable is the rear seat delete and the custom diamond plating throughout the rear. Cargo room galore! I asked Rob about the rear seat delete as it is a bit of an unusual mod in a station wagon, but he said the rear seat was never used and the weight savings was substantial — and on top of that, he was able to build custom storage into the false floor to hold detailing supplies, make it more practical too.
The car also has a custom stereo, carbon fiber trim throughout, and will eventually have custom Recaro front seats to assist with both weight savings and keeping the buttocks planted through hard cornering. Secondly, the vision. It would have been much easier, and cheaper, to build a B7 RS4 clone, or to just flare out the fenders on a B6 and call it a day. I also like that he was willing and able to take risks. Last but not least, a car like this is never done.
Do you love long-roofed Audi Avants wagons? Do you love the B6 body style, particularly the rear end? Rob would also like to thank Ceder Rowe and his crew at Rowetech in Portland who did the 2.
